Paint Tool Sai Settings by MourantLune Paint Tool Sai Settings by MourantLune
The four most used setting I use in Paint Tool Sai.

Color refers to a Pen like tool, I use it for line art and coloring.

Everything else there is standard, and the "Sketch," brush is a modified "Color," tool with a lower density, edge hardness and set to 32 on the Hard/Soft scale, I don't use it much anymore because I have the B Pencil Brush from :iconiris-hime:'s set.

Edit: The Paint tool is seen using 4 brushtex's; the first two are custom made, and the other two are presets.

Also, the smudge is just the Blend with a higher Density, Persistence and lower Dilution, I just don't use it much to mention it in the picture.

Are you using a tablet? bc you need pressure sensitivity on a tablet for the line variations if that's what you mean.

The 4 buttons next to the "Normal," drop down box, the one on the left is the softest, while the one on the right is the hardest.

I'm pretty sure that's what you need.

OH, you need a tablet for that, that's the pressure sensitivity.

If you use a mouse, the ends will stay fat and rounded, sorry.

It must be the "Min Size," setting, if it's all the way up, you'll get a rounded end.

Set the min size to 0%.

If that Isn't the problem, I don't know what is.

Thanks, but sadly it didn't do anything :c Thanks though. I think it might be my pen. I think something is wrong with it.
I heard that the "min size" is just for just pressure.

Check if your 'coordinate mode' is on Pen mode or Mouse mode . Because if it's on mouse mode , it wouldn't have a pressure.

You need to right click on an empty square to the left of the canvas, then select "Pen."

Then just use the setting in the picture.

Thanks for the reply to my question! haha, sorry, here's another question - hope you don't mind!

For the color, how do you get the end and start of the lines so thinly and neatly? Mine seems to remain the same the whole way through. Has it got anything to do with pressure?

:iconmourantlune:

It's the Minimum Size setting (Min Size.)

The lower it is, the more control you have over the thickness via pressure sensitivity, the higher it is, the less control you have,

Right click an empty space where the brushes are located and create a new brush from the options listed, (Pen, Brush, etc.)

Then just change the settings and voila, you have a new brush!
